House of Teak

Located in ECR, Chennai, this three-storey residential bungalow was designed to accommodate three brothers, each with their own unique preferences. Embracing the clients' love for pure solid teakwood, the design incorporated this material extensively due to the area's susceptibility to termites. Keeping plywood and laminate to a bare minimum, each floor was tailored to suit the individual tastes of the residents. From natural materials like cane, rattan, and bamboo to maximizing storage space, every detail was carefully considered. With sea-facing ceiling to floor windows, the living/dining rooms are flooded with natural light and offer stunning views of the beach. A rustic touch was added to the exterior facade with stylish brick tiles and a custom cross lined design using plaster and paint, creating a modern yet cozy atmosphere that perfectly complements the teak wood interior
